I think I'm past the point Where anyone can reach me I think I've been past it for a while And I've just been pretending I smile at people I say the right things I go through the motions But the lights have been off for months And nobody's checked And I don't want to be saved That's the part I can't say out loud I don't want to be saved I just want it to stop I'm the fire and I'm the thing that's burning I'm the hand and I'm the bruise I did this to myself And I'd do it all again Because I don't know how to be Anything other than ruined I had someone who loved me And I made it impossible Not all at once Just slowly The way you leave a door open in winter Until everything's cold And then you blame the weather I had a life that worked And I pulled at every thread Until it didn't And I don't want to be fixed That's the thing nobody understands I don't want to be fixed I just want to stop pretending I'm broken by accident I'm the fire and I'm the thing that's burning I'm the hand and I'm the bruise I did this to myself And I'd do it all again Because I don't know how to be Anything other than ruined
