About this track

‘Ebb And Flow’ turns inward, distilling Max Cooper’s structural approach to production into something more fluid and organic. Built on opposing forces and interdependent movement, the track unfolds through mirrored melodic lines: one rises as another falls, forming harmonies rooted in contrast. Max explains: “For the Feeling is Structure project I've been working with different construction techniques to make music from processes more so than the usual improvisational techniques I've used on other recent records. This time I wanted to play with Ebb And Flow, with simultaneous rising and falling tones to create harmonies, and softly flowing synths with my favourite P6 vibe with those magic resonant overtones. Visually I was interested in connecting the everyday world to something like the Platonic realm, or at least, our models of what the world is, as an ebb and flow between the two, so I immediately thought of Yoshi Sodeoka's beautiful work and got in touch to discuss ideas".
